Try it on another make or model of vehicle . Has to have OBD2 , model year 96 or newer even if some 94 and 95 model OBD1 cars already had the common style 16 pin connector

  Did you try to stabilize the Tablet by plugging in the AC adapter? Did you exit all your open Apps and Shut down or reboot and restart it. Did you see if you can communicate fine in Generic OBD 2 mode? Did you try to unpair the VCI from the 908 P and then Re-pair the VCI to the 908 P? ( You probably need to provide auxiliary power to the VCI to pair it to the tablet.) If some one has a another MS908 P , I wonder if you could pair his VCI to your  Tablet and see if issue  goes away.  Not sure if your VCI is at the latest level and updating your VCI might  resolve an issue or not , or it is something I would risk  if my update period was already over, unless I exhausted other options. Just ideas.
